Lose Respect, Lose the Game...
![]() |
Everyone who is involved in the game in some way is aware of poor behaviour and knows that – be it towards referees, players or fellow fans – it is wrong. The challenge now is to unite, change people’s attitudes and make them realise that verbal and physical abuse are not acceptable in the game. In an FA survey of 37,000 grassroots participants, behaviour was the biggest concern in the game. This not only included the abuse of match officials but the unacceptable behaviour of over-competitive parents, spectators and coaches on the sideline. As a Charter Standard club we wholheartedly support every effort to improve respect throughout the game, and have reviewed our Policies and Codes of Conduct to match. Football needs every one of us to play our part and observe the Football Association’s Respect Code of Conduct. Respect is the collective responsibility of everyone involved in football to create a fair, safe and enjoyable environment in which the game can take place. It’s so much easier to take a stand against poor behaviour if you are not on your own, if you have someone else on your team. Manor Colts are on the Respect team, and as a team we can make a difference. |
