Lose Respect, Lose the Game...

repect_logo

Everyone who is involved in the game in some way is aware of poor behaviour and knows that – be it towards referees, players or fellow fans – it is wrong. The challenge now is to unite, change people’s attitudes and make them realise that verbal and physical abuse are not acceptable in the game.

In an FA survey of 37,000 grassroots participants, behaviour was the biggest concern in the game. This not only included the abuse of match officials but the unacceptable behaviour of over-competitive parents, spectators and coaches on the sideline.

As a Charter Standard club we wholheartedly support every effort to improve respect throughout the game, and have reviewed our Policies and Codes of Conduct to match.

Football needs every one of us to play our part and observe the Football Association’s Respect Code of Conduct. Respect is the collective responsibility of everyone involved in football to create a fair, safe and enjoyable environment in which the game can take place.

It’s so much easier to take a stand against poor behaviour if you are not on your own, if you have someone else on your team. Manor Colts are on the Respect team, and as a team we can make a difference.

We are the Champions....

U12 Manor Black have clinched the NEHYL Division 3 title this season winning all but one of their leagues matches.

The Blacks have shown great team spirit and character and this season's success is well deserved. After a bleak season last year, they proved all their doubters wrong, digging deep time and again to put together an impressive run that's brought them 21 wins in 24 league starts...!

Sportsmanship and Respect.....

Lee Fowler sets the example..

But don't take my word for it, here's the message sent to the NEHYL League Secretary by opposing manager Ed Godolphin of New Windsor following their recent encounter with Lee's U12 Greens.....click

We're proud of all our teams at Manor Colts, but it's especially rewarding when sportsmanship is acknowledged so wholeheartedly!

Thank's, Lee.....

And Beth Swadling certainly qualifies. Always on the sidelines to cheer on big brother Albert and U14 Manor Green, Beth's no mean footballer herself.

And no wonder there's a smile, as the 'Greens' notched up their first league win of the season this afternoon.

There was plenty of action at the Fields this afternoon with three Colts teams in action

U14 Manor Green breathed a sigh of relief as they broke a losing run. 1-0 down at half time, three goals in as many minutes from Joseph Green turned the match in the Colt's favour.

With eight second half goals between them, both teams put on a great show.
